The opportunity

The Greek EY Strategy & Transactions Advisory Services (SaT) practice is the leader in Greece and South-East Europe in the professional financial advisory services market. Within SaT, our Project Finance / Infrastructure Advisory team sits at the heart of our Lead Advisory practice and deliver high quality advice to our global network of clients.

EY Infrastructure Advisory advises clients on funding, strategy, bidding, and procurement of investments for large-scale infrastructure projects. We advise across asset classes including transportation (e.g., transit, port terminals, highways, airports), healthcare, environmental (e.g., waste), energy, social infrastructure, schools, universities and municipal facilities, urban regenerations projects and green developments, throughout the full lifecycle of core infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships across Greece, CESA region, and globally, with EY Athens acting traditionally as a hub of regional know-how in the field.

Your key responsibilities

• You will be working in a professional environment alongside a vibrant and exciting team of experienced financial professionals on a variety of projects across the infrastructure sector.
• You would be given the opportunity to build an integral role to execute a variety of engagements related to the planning, development, delivery, and operations of major infrastructure projects.
• You will be focused on understanding the client's business, profit drivers, and trends, help clients mitigate risks, and improving deal structures.
• You will actively support the development of staff ensuring their career development.
• You will exercise your business acumen and critical mindset with meaningful impact in the infrastructure advisory sector.

What we look for

Required

• Excellent academic background, including a bachelor's and masters' degree from a top tier university in Accounting / Finance / Banking / Auditing / Economics, or other related field a with strong quantitative focus
• 4+ years of relevant working experience in project finance lending or project finance (limited or non-recourse financing) advisory role
• Highly proficient in writing up financial sections of PPP contracts, concession contracts, and financing documentation
• Experience in PPPs, concession projects, privatizations, and/or secondary market deals in the infrastructure domain of cross-sector transport, energy, social infrastructure (health, urban, education), waste management, etc.
• Experience in successful closing of Project Financing cases, covering the entire life cycle, from initial selection and assessment of the project, up to term sheet structuring, to secure financing and deployment of funds
• Track record of working in infrastructure projects funded by IFIs
• Working knowledge of the Greek debt financing and capital markets; and/or global infrastructure and project financing markets
• Understanding of key business and market drivers, including "greening" of infrastructure and digitalization trends
• Excellent written and verbal skills both in Greek and English
• Excellent knowledge in MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel
• Project Finance modelling skills, working knowledge of Power BI, VBA, MS Project / Primavera
• Strong numerical/analytical ability and financial accounting knowledge and experience (IFRS and Greek GAAP)
• Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Solid negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally
• Willingness to learn, proactivity, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas, while working in a multicultural corporate environment

Desirable

• A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting & Finance, Financial Management, and/or other related field with strong quantitative focus
• In terms of project finance advisory experience, experience in PF in a Big4 professional services firm is plus
• Experience in two (2) or more infrastructure sectors
• An active ACCA/ACA/CFA certification
