With my basic specialty and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, I have since been involved in all areas of construction and refurbishing (painting/varnishing, carpentry, building, tiling, mechanics, plumbing, cooling/heating, electronics), and chiefly preventive maintenance.

As a Member of the Saudi Council of Engineers, I was working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 2015 until the first outbreak of the pandemic.

Dhahran Tower in Al Khobar
Dhahran Tower (DHT) is the tallest residential skyscraper (45 floors/290 apartments) in the Eastern Province of the Arab Peninsula. 
In my 4-year tenure at DHT, Ι had been managing and coordinating 6 technical departments (total headcount of nearly 100 technical staff) to operate the Tower at optimum. 
Major projects included: 
- the replacement of the HVAC system,
- the upgrade of all 7 elevators to fully automated (button-free) function (in case of black
out, 2 shafts would switch to generator),
- the installation of 9 natural gas tanks, 
- the water supply through onsite well drilling (a sustainable initiative which contributed to
significant cost savings too: water was filtrated to reach the apartments at drinkable
quality and to supply the cooling towers, and returned to irrigate landscaping areas),
- the regular maintenance of the automobile fleet (8 semi-professional mini buses, 2
pickups, and 5 passenger vehicles),
- the installation of a highly advanced CCTV system with 72 cameras running 24/7 in the
control room and BMS room (the entire Tower and surrounding grounds were linked to a
BMS),
- the purchase of a cradle for high rise window cleaning, 
- the introduction of waste management and recycling best practices,
- as well as electrical projects to way enhance quality and reduce expenses: led lights
replaced conventional lighting in all units and public areas (FOH and BOH alike), and fiber optic lines for high speed Internet were installed in all apartments.

Although mostly residential, DHT housed a massive Alosrasupermarket, and supporting facilities available exclusively to tenants: nursery and pre-school, restaurant, and gym. 
The Tower run regular emergency drills (including all-out evacuation once a month) and was fully certified for all international safety and security protocols. Pressurized fans in all emergency staircases to maintain oxygen levels in the event of fire, and fire retardant material between glass surfaces and concrete are but examples of the Tower in-built protective measures. In order for local authorities (Ministry of Civil Defense/Fire Department) to reissue operating permits and insurance coverage, and for foreign entities (Aramco/Schlumberger) to extend/renew their lease contracts, detailed onsite inspections were conducted biannually.

Outside Dhahran Tower, facilities owned by the mother company Al Suwaiket included a
royal palace, and a waterfront compound in Aziziyah (with 10 private villas, horse and falcon stables, a horse-riding club, sea sports and recreational beach facilities, and extended grounds and supporting buildings and structures). I supervised this compound from construction to delivery, and oversaw maintenance henceforth. Although not under my immediate jurisdiction, often times special projects on these assets were assigned to me and the Tower team, to capitalize on the company's best technical expertise.

In the dynamic workplace of the Saudi capital, my skills have evolved into Project Management, and Mixed-use Facility Management - with tasks ranging from recruiting, training, and leading large/diverse teams, to planning, executing, and budgeting projects and departments, negotiating and procurement.
