Giorgos Sykas

I am an Electrical and Computer Engineer with a specialization in Telecommunications. My interests include Software Development, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, Signal/Image Processing, Computational Engineering. I am very passionate about solving real world problems with both programming and  mathematics. I strongly believe that my determination and continuous learning will help me meet all requirements and perform excellently within the work environment.

I have worked in two Computer Vision projects at my current role. One was for facial recognition and the other for fingerprint identification. They both involved the development of a CNN for each application and an intense process of image processing to prepare the data.

The third project was an algorithm with an ANN to forecast energy generation and consumption in a Smart Home. Using historical weather data a model was created and integrated in the software.

In college I did a 3-month internship where I studied EEG signals to identify patterns and state changes. I applied many signal processing techniques and excelled at my tasks.

I have a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (5 year program) in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My specialization field was Telecommunications (RF engineering, mmWave applications, antenna designing etc.). I have studied a lost of mathematics to gain my degree and I am able to apply them in any programming task.
