Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Accoutnant-Payroll Specialist located in Athens.

The Accounant-Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, managing payroll administration, handling employee garnishments, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, and providing payroll-related services.

The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to adhere to deadlines while ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Role activities and tasks

Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a varied client portfolio, ensuring complete accuracy and full compliance with statutory requirements and internal control frameworks.

Prepare and submit all mandatory employment-related filings to ERGANI, including hires, terminations, and contractual amendments, with strict adherence to regulatory deadlines.

Administer digital working time compliance by accurately submitting work schedules and any changes to ERGANI, ensuring conformity with Greek Labor Law and each client's operational structure.

Generate and review payroll-related accounting postings, ensuring accurate reconciliation and smooth integration with the general ledger in line with applicable accounting standards.

Work collaboratively with the payroll team to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and implement best-practice workflows that enhance overall service delivery.

Produce detailed payroll reports, tailored analytical summaries, and electronic payslips for clients and internal stakeholders.
Provide expert guidance on complex payroll matters, including salary calculations, social security contributions (EFKA), taxation, and timekeeping issues.
Stay abreast of changes in Greek labor, social security, and tax legislation to ensure continuous compliance and procedural accuracy.
Supporting in other accounting activities and reporting.
Safeguard sensitive employee information by maintaining strict confidentiality and full adherence to GDPR standards.
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all payroll outputs, consistently meeting statutory and internal deadlines.

Ideal Background
Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing and accounting
Familiarity with payroll laws and regulations applicable in Greece
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Strong working knowledge of Greek Labor Law, including familiarity with ERGANI/ERGANI II, e-EFKA regulations, and SEPENET reporting.
Advanced skills in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas). Prior experience with industry-standard payroll software (specifically Epsilon Net Pylon/Extra or similar) is highly regarded.
Native or near-native fluency in Greek and professional-level proficiency in English (written and verbal) for client communications.
