To the attention of the HR department, 

I wish to apply for the position of assistant psychologist. As a Psychology graduate with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University; I am looking for a challenging opportunity to put into practice what I have learned so far and to grow more professionally. 
 

Due my interdisciplinary liberal arts and Psychology background and a variety of work as well as personal experiences, I believe that my profile will be an excellent match for this position. In my previous experiences, I had the opportunity to understand how certain challenges can result in vulnerability.

For instance, my work with third culture kids such as myself in the Netherlands made me aware of how cultural transitions and sudden change can affect children and their families at large in more than one context whilst working as a child caregiver at Zein International Childcare.

 Having had multiple transitions, as a child transcending cultures and being raised as a third culture kid (TCK), borders and languages multiple times I know far too well the challenges that may arise. Thanks to my time spent in South Africa as well as Argentina, I was elucidated of the contradictions of living in different worlds. I would be able to use all my skills and knowledge from my intercultural and life experiences as well as my intuition and empathy towards helping others and evolving even more which is my dream.

My psychology background and studies have provided me with practical and theoretical skills on the above-mentioned topics and on evidence-based research. I can apply different methodologies effectively. Reading and collecting relevant information from academic and other sources has become a routine practice for me. I am also aware of the importance of background information, good data and the value of clarity in communicating and presenting ideas.

My interest in psychology. History, culture, literature, art, languages, sociology, Anthropology to name a few have grown over the course of my life and I see these subjects as useful lenses by which one can understand the world as well as other diverse individuals but also our place within it as source for inspiration and growth. I constantly try to transmit this passion to encourage others to question what they know and thus form their own opinions towards their own growth.

 My academic writing together with my experiences demonstrates my ability to write in different styles and languages and to adapt to different audiences. I am native in English (as I was raised in the Republic of South Africa hold dual citizenship (Greek -South African) Furthermore I am also fluent in Spanish (DELE C1).

Moreover, I am always seeking to learn more languages and to educate myself further in pedagogical sciences/educational psychology as well as further in psychology and to grow in the field.

I have recently been accepted for a distance online (my second) Masters degree programme in Child Studies at Linkoping University in Sweden and am continuously looking at further professional necessary development and growth in the future leading to a doctorate degree in the future.

 My various experiences in different parts of the world, such as South Africa where I lived for 14 years , Greece, the Netherlands and finally Argentina(2020-2021) have helped me understand and interact with individuals from various backgrounds. I can quickly adapt to new environments and changing circumstances. To conclude, I strongly believe that my profile matches the role if given the opportunity. I am highly motivated to be able to grow and evolve.

I seek to grow and gain more experience that will allow me to grow and evolve and develop myself more whilst accumulating much more valuable experience on my path in the field .
