I am an Enthusiastic Application Developer with excellent organizational skills and critical thinking. Strongly skilled at SQL, Power BI, Python and Cobol. Motivated to learn, grow, and evolve my skills further in the Data Science/Machine Learning field.

Professional Career:

I have already worked for a few years as a software application developer. The project that I am most proud of delivering during my career is the development of web services for Alpha Bank Romania. The whole project and every step of it was conducted by me (Analysis, Development, Testing). Not only have I had the chance to create the algorithm for our web banking customers but also to present the results to the Business Analysts team and Software Engineering teams. The project needed to be a robust algorithm (using COBOL language and Excel via UNISYSTEM mainframe) of ‘filtering’ the transactions as well as providing notifications in case of card loss/theft, malicious usage of card etc. The ideal combination of practicing both hard technical and soft skills under strict deadlines makes it my #1.    

Postgraduate studies:

My MSc in Computing covered a wide range of languages such as Java, JavaScript, Jupyter Notebooks, Tensorflow, Keras, Sklearn, AdversariaLib,  Python and SQL. In addition, specific courses provided the opportunity for a sneak peek into industrial ways of thinking and project organization. My Dissertation Thesis was about Machine Learning Algorithms (AI) and the proper ways of defending them (Python presented via Jupyter Notebooks). I was thrilled to demonstrate my work through Python and using libraries such as Pandas and Matplotlib and comprehend (at least the basic concepts) of Deep Neural Networks and automated algorithms.

My motto is, and always has been ‘Persistence for Self-Perfection’. Μy professional career has proven to me and my colleagues that I am a fast-learner and that I deliver accurately and within short time frames.

AiCore February 2022 - Present Machine Learning Specialism ■ Built Computer Vision project : ● Trained a computer vision model using online tools that detected whether the user is showing Rock, Paper, or Scissors to the camera in real-time. ● Created a Python script to play Rock-Paper-Scissors with the computer using manual inputs. ● Used the Tensorflow API to leverage the output of the said model inside Python. ● Used the OpenCV library to access the webcam and play Rock Paper Scissors with the computer using the image from the camera. ■ Built Web Scraper (2 versions – manual with user prompt and automatic). ● Developed a module that scraped data from various sources using Selenium (and maybe Requests). ● Curated a database with information about a website and stored it on an AWS RDS database using SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL. ● Performed unit testing and integration testing on the application to ensure that the package published to Pypi is working as expected. ● Used Docker to containerize the application and deployed it to an EC2 instance (in progress). ● Set up a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions to push a new Docker image (in progress). ● Monitored the container using Prometheus and created dashboards to visualise those metrics using Grafana (in progress). ■ Building Facebook Marketplace product ranking algorithm University of Sheffield October 2019 - March 2021 MSc Computer Science Modules include Java, JavaScript, Jupyter Notebooks, Tensorflow, Keras, Sklearn, AdversariaLib, Python and SQL. Dissertation Thesis: Evasion and Poisoning Attacks Against Deep Neural Networks. The report/research was conducted to illustrate the scientifically proven defences applied on various poisoning and evasion attacks against Deep Neural Networks.
