For our Athens office, we are seeking a Junior Risk Analyst to join our Risk Department:Optimizing Senior Resources:
The role assumes responsibility for data collection and foundational risk analysis, enabling senior analysts to focus on complex strategic initiatives.
Proactive Risk Monitoring:
Enhanced data oversight strengthens our early-warning capabilities, helping identify market or operational shifts before they escalate.
Succession Planning & Talent Pipeline:
The position forms part of our long-term succession planning, developing future risk professionals aligned with our risk framework and organizational culture.

Job Accountabilities
Daily P&L and Position Reporting:
Producing and validating daily trading profit and loss (P&L) and volumetric exposure reports.
This includes providing commentary to traders and senior management on what market changes or economic factors drove daily P&L shifts.
Market Data & Curve Validation:
Ensuring the integrity of market data, including validating forward curves for physical and derivative oil markets to ensure accurate valuation of trading positions.
Exposure & Hedge Management:
Monitoring physical and derivative exposure to ensure all market price risks are captured and that hedge actions are executed correctly in the system.
Compliance & Control:
Ensuring all trading activities comply with internal risk policies, Delegations of Authority (DoA), and external regulatory standards such as EMIR, Dodd-Frank, or REMIT.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Liaising daily with front-office traders, as well as operations, finance, IT, and credit departments to resolve discrepancies and improve risk management systems.
Skills & ExperienceA Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced Excel:
Critical for data manipulation and modeling.
Programming:
Strong preference for Python or SQL to automate reporting and enhance risk models.
ETRM Systems:
Experience with Energy Trading Risk Management systems (e.g. Symphony). If this is Possible.
Industry Knowledge:
understanding of physical oil trading, derivatives (Swaps, Futures, Options), and energy market structures.
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail, Resilience in high-pressure environments, and the ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
